1. Identify Your Interests

2. Assess Your Capabilities

3. Think about your Ambitions

4. Understand your Aptitude (natural ability to do something).

5. Identify professions where all of Interests, Capabilities, Ambitions and Aptitude would be well served

6. Research on as many professions as possible (especially those linked to above)

7. Speak to people from these professions and try to find projects in these fields

8. Find out the courses/subjects you will need to study to pursue the above during school and in undergraduate course

9. Research on the colleges/ universities that offer these courses and identify the ones that look best for you (keep in mind college rankings, budget and your own capabilities)

10. Find out the criteria to get into these colleges of choice (entrance tests/interviews/essays/volunteering etc.)

11. Find out the stage at which different courses begin e.g. (after school/after graduation etc.)

13. Apply to an ample number of universities and have back up options
